FRIDAY!
It’s the weekend and I’m here to chat with you.
I became fully immersed in the world of patterns this week as I prepped for our first Pattern Play Workshop. I was amazed to learn the history of different patterns, and that most patterns have been around for a long time. One of my favorite patterns is Toile de Jouy, which depicts pastoral scenes and was designed in the 1800s in a city just outside of Paris called Jouy en Josas. I reached out to my cousin who is studying in France for some pronunciation help and within 24 hours she sent me photographs of vintage toile that she’d run into…I love that it’s still a prevalent print and that it has gotten many revamps throughout the years.
Fav things:
Since you know I’ve been into toile, here is one of my favorite: Toile de Femmes
I started following this instagram that posts beautiful flat lays of shells, these bring the Virgo in me so much satisfaction
